Pizza Hut is looking for a manager of digital greatness, but it's only giving candidates 140 seconds to prove why they should be the company's social media guru.
"Do you think in 140 characters?" asks a video posted to the pizza-maker's Twitter account. "Are you the keeper of the hashtags and master of memes? If you dare to call yourself a social media maven and pop culture guru then you might just be what we're looking for."
The number of seconds available corresponds to the maximum amount of characters allowed for a tweet.
Pizza Hut is asking interested, digitally savvy people to participate in their open interviews at the Austin, Texas, Hilton hotel on March 10 between one and five p.m.
But is it possible to find a great employee in 140-seconds?
CBC's Kevin O'Leary, co-host of The Lang and O'Leary Exchange and a dragon on Dragon's Den, thinks it's a great idea, because generally, people talk too much.
"This is fantastic," he said. "It makes you concise. It makes you thoughtful. It makes you focused, and maybe it even gets you a job."
He suggested prospective employees look at the interviewer in complete silence for the first 100 seconds. And in the last 40 seconds, they should say: "I'm really, really, really good. Hire me."
The successful individual will "own Pizza Hut's conversation strategy and advertising across all digital platforms."
