After firefighters in Kansas City, Mo., made two unsuccessful attempts to rescue a fawn from a creek Tuesday, some civilians took matters into their own hands.
The exhausted fawn somehow found itself trapped in a creek bordered by large stone walls.
Firefighters were unable to get to the animal. Some witnesses retrieved it from the creek after water levels receded.
Local media said the deer is now at a nature centre.
