Two Halifax police "seal whisperers" helped shoo a baby seal back into the harbour after it took "a leisurely stroll down the middle of Lower Water Street" early Thursday morning, according to a release.
Around 12:30 a.m. the officers were conducting a patrol near Bishop's Landing when a woman alerted them to a young seal taking cover under her parked car.

"Smelling something fishy the officers took matters in hand," wrote Sgt. Maj. Don Moser.
The officers were concerned for its safety, says Mosher, so they "wrapped the whiskered sushi lover in a blanket, and carefully assisted it back to its harbour home."
Mosher writes that before swimming away, the seal gave the rescuers its "seal of approval."
